April 30, 2004 - Flying the Jersey Coast |
||||
I flew to a business meeting in upper New Jersey. I flew down the Jersey coast coming home. |
||||
This part of the coast was heavily populated with beach
houses.
|
||||
Then I came to this section that was unpopulated. But it wasn't a wildlife refuge area, so I could have flown as low as I wanted. There were cars and trucks parked on the sand every half mile or so, their drivers relaxing in a lawn chair, a fishing rod in one hand and a Budweiser in the other.
That small, dark rectangle below next to the water is a pickup truck.
I approach Atlantic City from the North.
As I got closer to Atlantic City, I was surprised at all the empty, grassy lots. I would have though they would have been prime real estate.
You can really see the empty lots now. What's the deal?
Donald Trump's Taj Mahal. (You're fired.) You can see the wooden boardwalk below.
You can see Bader airport in the middle of the image below. I need to land there one of these days.
A closer look at Bader Field. There is a baseball stadium right on the edge of it.
